General rental conditions
Reservation :
Reservations are considered confirmed after payment of the deposit requested and receipt of a signed copy of the rental contract only.
Price :
Once the rental deposit is paid, the client concerned is then committed to payment of the outstanding rental balance along with the local tourist tax applicable. The agency accepts payments in cash (€uros), by bank or credit card (Visa / Eurocard-Mastercard), by cheque (in €uros and cashable in France), by “cheques vacances” or by travellers cheques.
Should any client fail to inform the agency of a late or postponed arrival, the agency reserves the right to re-rent the apartment concerned two days after the booking date in question.
Inventory of fixtures :
An inventory and remarks list will be given to each tenant upon arrival. Both of these documents are to be completed and returned to Val Thorens Immobilier within 48 hours. After this time, no complaints or compensation requests will be considered, and tenants may be held liable for any damage incurred.

Tenants are responsible for the following :
- Payment for the replacement of any missing or damaged items / objects.
- Payment for the cleaning of all bed linen (if necessary) and for any repairs required within the apartment (walls, floors, ceiling, decor...etc).
- To leave the apartment clean, tidy and in perfect working order. Should cleaning be deemed necessary, the amount required will be withheld from the security deposit left.
Occupation :
Pets are accepted only after prior permission has been granted by the agency. A supplement fee of 30 €uros will be charged.
Tenants are requested to respect the general rules of the apartment block and to observe the 10.00pm noise ban.
In the event that these rules are not observed, tenants may be required to vacate the apartment immediately without any refund of rental costs or security deposit.
Under no circumstances may the apartment be occupied by more than the number of persons stipulated in the contract. Failure to comply with the above will be seen as a breach of contract, following which all rental obligations will be cancelled immediately and no part of the booking costs refunded.
The agency reserves the right to visit any apartment at any time during the rental period concerned for necessary repairs or opportunities of sale.
Insurance :
The agency declines all responsibility in case of theft, burglary and any risk incurred by an accident within the apartment. In the event of an accident, no claim against the owner of the apartment in question or their representative will be accepted through renters insurance.
Clients must ensure that they hold the correct insurance cover for all risks and / or accidents of which they may be the cause.
Cancellation :
Should a cancellation be received more than 8 weeks prior to the date of arrival concerned, the remainder of the booking deposit paid will be refunded after deduction of a small administrative fee.
Should a cancellation be received less that 8 weeks prior to the date of arrival concerned, the booking deposit will be forfeited and withheld by the Agency.
The cancellation insurance included in the rental price is applicable in the case of force majeure only.
Deposit :
Due to the large number of departures and arrivals of tenants at the same time, it is not possible for the agency to check rented premises together with the tenants. However, between the departure of previous clients and new arrivals a full inventory check will be carried out by the agency personnel.
In order to guarantee the correct return of all apartments to the agency, a deposit will be requested for each apartment on arrival. Deposits are payable by bank/credit card (Visa & Mastercard) or by cheque (€uros, cashable in France only). Deposits are not cashed and are automatically destroyed 10 days after the tenant’s departure date.
Security deposits in cash are NOT ACCEPTED.
Should the cost of any repairs incurred be greater than the deposit left, the client concerned must pay the outstanding balance in full.
Should clients wish to have an inventory check carried out with a member of staff from the agency, an appointment must be made before the Tuesday of the week in question before 12.00pm. There is a supplementary fee of 15€ charged for this service.
Legal proceedings :
Any legal dispute concerning the choice of residence attributed by the agency must go through the tribunal in Albertville.
Collection of keys :
Apartment keys may be collected between 5.00pm and 7.00pm on the arrival day concerned.
Should any client wish to arrive after 7.00pm (on Saturdays only), the following procedure must be respected :
- The outstanding rental balance must be paid in full and security deposit left BEFORE ARRIVAL.
- Between the Christmas and Easter holidays there is a late arrival service provided by the Tourist Office (Saturdays only) whereby keys are available to be collected until 1.00am. This service is available following prior agreement from the agency only.
Return of keys :
All tenants will receive 2 sets of keys. These must be returned to the agency before 10.00am on the Saturday morning of departure. Failure to do so will necessitate duplicate keys being cut, the cost of which will be deducted from the apartment deposit.
Should the apartment not be vacated before 10.00am, an extra day will be invoiced to the tenant.
All apartments must be vacated by 10.00am on the morning of departure. Tenants must ensure that the premises have been left properly clean and tidy, that all dishes have been cleaned and put away, refrigerator emptied and cleaned, bins emptied, pillows and blankets folded and tidily put away and the floor cleaned also.
